Eric Montgomery received one of six best poster awards at the 54th MidWest Solid State Conference for his presentation of the "Temperature-dependent dielectric function of AlInP and GaInP". Eric showcased his research as undergraduate student during the summer of 2007 on ellipsometry measurements of dielectric functions from semiconducting compounds at high temperatures. Eric's undergraduate research is supported by the UNL UCARE program. His

investigations performed in Ultra high vacuum on highest-quality optoelectronic device-grade materials included spectral light ranges from the near infrared to the ultra violet. His results are of scientific relevance and reflect lattice vibration affected changes of the electronic properties. He is also closely working together with the Complex Materials Optics Network collaborator OSRAM OptoSemiconductors GmbH in Regensburg, Germany.
